Shepherd, at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 12. Weights are due on April 16 and acceptances will close at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 19. In conversation with the writer a prominent official of the Masterton Racing Club expressed disappointment that the Wairarapa Club did not make use of the facilitiesat Opaki for the Easter meeting. In addition to the Opaki course being. adjacent to the railway line, which meant a considerable saving in the use of horse floats and bus transport for patrons the track and grounds were in splendid order. As he understood the position the Tauherenikau course required a good deal of preparation and the club was faced with the difficulty of arranging for transport for intending patrons. However, the Wairarapa Club was to be congratulated for its enterprise in holding a meeting. The club’s officials were a capabje band of men and were deserving of a successful meeting.
