MURDER CHARGES

AGAINST SOUTH AFRICAN SEAMAN. ACCUSED MAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The hearing of evidence was concluded today, in the Magistrate’s Court, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M.,’in the case in which John Sidney Crawford, a South African seaman, aged 26, is charged. with murdering two members of the United States Marine Corps, Sidney Samuel Sparrow and Elmer William Geti, and attempting to murder Hazel Josephine Salmon, aged 19, and Constable T. W. Illes. Crawford pleaded not guilty on all the charges and was committed for trial.
