SHORT OF QUOTA MASTERTON DISTRICT FIGURES. PATRIOTIC FUND APPEAL. At this morning’s meeting of the Patriotic Committee it was reported that at the close of business yesterday Masterton was £2,500 short of its quota. Several last minute promises had not arrived so that these figures could not be taken into account. A very successful shop day was held yesterday by the Wairarapa Women’s Patriotic Committee which netted £358 10s sd. Only one fifth of this amount can be credited to the Masterton quota. The South Road gala last night, while not well attended produced the satisfactory total of £272. It was decided that the committee should make arrangements for the receipt of outstanding donations. All persons who have not sent in their contributions .are asked to do so immediately in order to facilitate the closing of the campaign. A vote of thanks was' passed to all who had so generously given their help.
