GREYTOWN
FATHER CONNOR FAREWELL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) A large number of parishioners ,of the Roman Catholic Church in Greytown met at the residence of .Mr. and Mrs. J. Bouzaid on Monday night to farewell Father Connor, who has been transferred to the Kilbirnie Parish, Wellington. Among the clergy present were the Rev. Father Dillon and the Rev. Father O’Sullivan. Father Dillon expressed the regret of parishioners and priests at the departure of Father Connor, w’ho was highly respected by all for his simplicity of character and kindness of heart. Father Sullivan also spoke in a similar strain. Mr. J. Bouzaid presented Father Connor, on behalf of the parishioners, with a cheque in appreciation of services rendered by him in the parish, and voiced the regret of the parishioners at his departure. At the conclusion of the gathering Mr. and Mrs. Bouzaid were thanked for their- hospitality and for the use of their home. Boy Scouts. There was an excellent attendance at the Boy Scouts’ parade on Monday night. There was good competition in the patrol games, the Panther patrol winning by a large margin. A new tenderfoot, Frank Wilson, was enrolled. TOWN HALL DOUBLE FEATURE. There will be an excellent double feature programme tonight—“ Blondie Goes to College,” a splendid comedy featuring Penny Singleton and Arthur Lake, and “Burma Convoy,” a thrilling drama starring Charles Bickford and Evelyn Ankers.
