Mrs. Fisher, who has been the gues f of Mrs. Sutton, has returned to Carterton. Mrs E. Taurau has returned to Dannevirke. , Mr. and Mrs. Rankin have returned to Wellington. Mr. R. Thompson has returned from Gisborne. Tribal Committee. The monthly meeting of th Wairarapa Tribal Committee which was to have been held at Greytown on Sunday last,, has been postponed till next Sunday owing to the absence of some of the members at the Rotorua Conference. Mosquito Nuisance. Mosquitoes have made an unusual late appearance in this district and many a resident has had sleepless nights through their activities. Crows in District. Some months ago reference was made in these notes to crows appearing in this district. A resident states that three birds were first noticed here about thirteen years ago and since then their numbers have increased threefold. They frequent certain properties in the vicinity of Pirinoa and recently have taken up fresh quarters on ani other property. Tar Sealing Highway. About a mile of the Tuhitarata-Mar-tinborough Highway has been tar-seal-ed. Milk Supply. The weather has been exceptionally fine for the past three weeks and the pastures are showing the effects of the warm weather. The milk supply to the local cheese factory, although declining, compares more than favourably with the corresponding period last season.
