The Canadian corvette Weyburn was sunk by enemy action in Mediterranean waters, with the loss of seven lives. Sixty-three were rescued. The Weyburn was one of seventeen Canadian warships sent to ttyi Mediterranean last autumn in connection with Allied operations in Fforth Africa.
