BOMBING ATTACKS

IN NORTH & SOUTH PACIFIC. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, March 31. A United States Navy Department communique states: “In the North Pacific on March 29, Liberator and Mitchell bombers, escorted by Lightnings, attacked Japanese positions at Kiska. A runway and camp area installations were bombed and strafed. All the planes returned. “In the South Pacific on March 30, early in the morning, Flying. Fortresses attacked a Japanese positions at Vila, in the Central Solomons and at Kahili, in the Shortlands. All the planes returned.”
