A copy of “Kiwi,” a compact tabloid paper which is the official organ of the New Zealand forces in the Pacific area, has been sent to the “Times-Age.” The National Patriotic Fund Board provided the money for the printing plant and the Army Education and Welfare Service assembled a staff of printers and journalists to produce the paper. The initial production for New Zealand readers is a credit to all concerned. In addition to interesting overseas news a special feature is made of New Zealand items. The sporting section gives race results and current cricket news. News from the Pacific, the North African and Russian fronts is presented in a compact summary. For security reasons no unit news is published in issues sent to New Zealand. If the first issue can be taken as a criterion the paper’s aim, which is. to provide a twoway news service, should be admirably achieved.
