SPRAYING PROGRAMME CONTROLS RECOMMENDED. CHECKING DISEASE & PESTS. The small fruits spray programme given below has been compiled by Mr M. Davey, orchard instructor, with the object of confining the operations to the minimum cost of time and material consistent with efficient control. Additional applications to those specified may be essential. General recommendations are of necessity given, which cannot meet the needs of all cases. Raspberries, Loganberries and Boysenberries. Period of application: Delayed dormant. Disease and pests, anthracnose, spur blight, leaf spot. Control, Bordeaux, 3-4-50. Scale, bud moth, caterpillar and eggs. Control, lime sulphur 1- emulsified oil 1-15. Early spring to pre-blossoms: Fungus disease, leafroller caterpillar, bud moth, bronze beetle. Control, Bordeaux mixture 2-3-50 plus arsenate of lead, powder ljlbs-100. Immediately after harvesting: Anthracnose, leaf spot, bud moth and leafroller caterpillar. Controls, Bordeaux mixture 3-4-50, plus arsenate of lead Ulbs-100. Currants. Delayed dormant: San Jose and other scales, currant eelworm. Control, lime sulphur 1-15, if necessary followed by emulsified oil 1-15. Fruit set: Leaf spot, bronze beetle, leafroller, caterpillar. Control, Bordeaux mixture, 2-3-50, combined with arsenate of lead powder, 1 glbs-100, plus 31bs hydrated lime 100. Gooseberries. Delayed dormant: Dieback or botrytis cinerea. Control, Bordeaux 3-4-50. Fruit set and early autumn: Dieback or botrytis cinerea. Control, Bordeaux 2-
