CARTERTON SALE. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat wethers, 23s 6d, 23s 9d, 24s 9d, 25s to 265; fat ewes, 10s, 12s to 12s lOd; fat lambs, 21s 2d, 25s to 25s 7d; fat and forward, b.f. 2-ths., to 20s lid: forward 2-th. wethers, to 21s; fat and forward woolly wether lambs, 15s Id to 17s 7d; woolly wether lambs, Us 6d, 12s, 12s 9d to 12s lOd; b.f. lambs, 9s 9d, 10s, 10s Id, Us 7d to 13s 4d; small woolly ewe lambs, to 10s; small w.w. lambs, 8s 3d, 9s to 10s 9d; f.m. ewes, to 7s Id; cull lambs, 4s, 5s 6d to 6s 3d; 1-shear S.D. rams, to 4gns.; f.m. S.D. rams, to Ign. Cattle: Fat cows, £5, £5 15s, £6, £6 18s to £8; forward cows, £3 18s, £4 ss, £4 10s to £4 15s; store cows, 255, £2, £2 10s, £3 2s, £3t 10s to £3 16s; cows and calves, £2 10s to £5 8s: bulls, £4 15s, £5, £6, £6 10s to £7 10s; 18-mos. dairy heifers, r.w. bull, to £5 ss; fat steers, to £10; empty heifers, £4 to £5 Is: heifer calves, to £3 3s.
