WOMEN’S INSTITUTE ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Hastwells Women’s Institute was held in the Hastwells Hall, a fair attendance of members being presided over by the president Mrs K. Ngatuere. In moving the adoption of the annual report the president referred to the splendid work carried out during the year by the members. Beautiful shoulder sprays were presented to various officers. A bring and buy in aid of the Maori development fund, was held. A game organised by Mrs Sigvertsen was won by Mrs Ngatuere. Another organised by Mrs Madsen was won by Mrs Sigvertsen, and an observation test on local surroundings, organised by the president, was won by Miss I. Madsen. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follow: President, Mrs K. Ngatuere (re-elected unopposed); vice-president, Mrs Madsen; secretary, Mrs Claude Seymour; treasurer, Miss Iris Madsen; press correspondent, Miss Elva Dick; soldiers parcels, Mrs E. Sigvertsen. The points prize was won by Miss Eileen Larsen. Afternoon tea was handed round by the hostesses.
