An enjoyable gathering was held at Messrs Hugo & Shearer’s tearooms on Tuesday afternoon when a numbei o women teachers met to bid farewell to Miss M. F. Wallis, infant mistress ci the Masterton Central School, who is leaving at the end of the month to take up a position in Palmerston North. Reference was made to tie long period of service that Miss Wallis had given educationally to the town, where she has been infant mistress at different times in four local schools.
