An Admiralty communique states: “Light coastal forces intercepted a strongly-escorted enemy convoy off Terschelling (Holland) early yesterday morning. Our forces pressed their attack in the face of heavy gunfire, and seriously damaged at least one escorting ship. Our forces made a second attack in darkness. It was impossible to observe the full results. All our forces returned safely to harbour. Only one rating was slightly injured.
