STATE THEATRE

“I WAS A SPY.” “I Was a Spy,” will be the chief feature of the programme at the State Theatre tonight. It is a drama of an exceptionally thrilling character and contains scenes which should hold the audience spellbound. Exceptionally well presented, the acting is of a very high standard, each artist handling his or her role most skilfully. The story expounds some particularly daring exploits and keeps the audience in a constant state of excitement. There is nothing of the “horror” nature about the film, it being one which audiences should appreciate for its undoubted merit. The chief role is taken by Conrad Veidt, who gives an outstanding performance. Also featured in this moving production of the true life story of Martha' McKenna are Madeleine Carroll and Herbert Marshall.
