GRASS FIRES

IN AREA BEHIND WEST SCHOOL. The Masterton Fire Brigade turned out, in response to a call received by exchange, at 2.20 p.m. today, to a grass fire in an area behind the Masterton West School and adjacent to the railway lines. The fire was speedily extinguished. SECOND OUTBREAK. A second alarm was sounded ten minutes later, when a grass fire was reported in Short Street, near the railway line.
