HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM NAPIER. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race at the weekend from Napier- an airline distance of 125 miles. The weather conditions were good and as a result, a close finish was record-, ed. The following were the placings: —A. Pinkney’s Morning Light (time, 2hrs. 12mins. 44secs.), 1; Grant and Forrester’s Black Bess (time, 2hrs. 13mins.‘ 40 secs.), 2; Grant and Forrester’s Black Son (time, 2hrs. 14mins. 6secs.), 3; N. Gardner’s Hot Spot (time, 2hrs, 14mins. llsecs.), 4; Stewart and Son’s Sun Down (time, 3hrs. Omins. 29secs.), 5; A. Pinkney’s Airline (time, 3hrs. Omins. 58 secs.), 6. The winner of this race received a cash prize donated by Mr N. Pederson, Masterton. The following are the positions for the points prize:—Grant and Forrester, 38 points, 1; Stewart and Sons, 34 points, 2; A. Pinkney, 24 points, 3. The next race will be from Dannevirke.
