WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION CLOSE OF SEASON. CHAMPIONSHIP TO RED STAR. The Wairarapa Cricket Association closed the season on Saturday when the senior championship was won for the fourth season in succession by the Red Star Club. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR v AIR FORCE. On the Park Oval on Saturday afternoon Red Star had little difficulty in beating the strongest Air Force team put in the field this season. Scores: Red Star, 7 wickets for 184 (C. Roys 60, F. Hoar, retired, 48, Davis’2o, G. Peterson 16, Bell 15, Colban 10; Bardsley 2 for 38, Robinson 2 for 55, Wilson 1 for 0, Milne 1 for 35, Fielding 1 for 43. Air Force 140 (Patterson not out 32, Fielding 26, Robinson 17, Pratt 16, Wilson 14; F. Hoar 4 for 33. J. Renner 3 for 24, Bell 1 for 33). OLD BOYS v COLLEGE. SOME GOOD BATTING. Excellent batting by D. McMichael (retired 52 and who also bowled splendidly) and Fitzpatrick (51) was principally responsible for Old Boys securing an easy win over Wairarapa College at the College ground. McMichael and Fitzpatrick added 78 to the score while together, both making many fine shots all round the wicket. Old Boys won all their three matches in the third round. Scores:— Old. Boys: 8 wickets for 185 (McMichael retired 52, Fitzpatrick 51, Jones 23, Young 20, Thompson 17;.G. Masters 3 for 11, Sweeney 2 for 60, Bannister 1 for 1, McPherson 1 for 15, O’Brien 1 for 35). College: 92 (Sweeney 21, Hemi not out 20, Nicol 10; McMichael 7 wickets for 46, Jones 2 for 31, Barr 1 for 1. 4 POSITION OF TEAMS The following were the positions of the teams at the close of the present season: —
