In the course of his broadcast address tonight, the British Prime Minister (Mr Churchill) stated that he had just received a message from General Montgomery that the Eighth Army was on the move and that he (General Montgomery) was satisfied with its progress. . In Central Tunisia, United States troops are reported to have occupied the town and railway station of Sened, 25 miles east of Gafsa. It was reported yesterday that the American troops had seized the spurs of hills three miles north-west of Sened and that by the end of the day, after taking prisoners, they were in a position dominating the plains over which the roads runs to Maknassi. This morning Italian troops at Sened offered very little resistance and the enemy withdrew eastward. Allied aircraft were busy bombing and strafing the enemy west of Gabes. An airfield near Sfax was attacked and bombs fell among a number of enemy aircraft on the ground. On the central and northern sectors fighters made many attacks on enemy troops, guns and transport.
