BURNT TO DEATH
RETIRED CARRIER’S FATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, This Day. Mr Herbert Sanders, retired carrier, was burnt to death when a caravan in which he lived on the Tuipo Road, Rongotea, was destroyed by fire. The discovery of the fire was made by Mr Edgar Dear, on whose property the caravan stood, but so fierce were the flames that he was unable to approach close enough to fight the outbreak.
