GREYTOWN
LADY GALWAY GUILD DECISION TO GO INTO RECESS. ("Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Greytown branch of the Lady Galway Guld was held in the meeting room of the Council Chambers last night. Mr A. W. Horton was in the chair. The Guild decided to go into recess until such times s the need arose for meeting again. The money in hand is to be placed in the Greytown Patriotic Fund, but is to be kept as a separate account for future use. Votes of thanks were passed to Mesdames A. Johnson and Duff for the use of machines, which are to be returned. Thanks were also extended to Mr Horton for having presided at meetings of the branch, and to Miss Duff for having audited the accounts. Mesdames T. Jordan and O’Hara Smith, of Masterton, will be present at the Red Cross Society’s rooms at Greytown on Monday at 2 p.m. and meet the members of the Lady Galway Guild. Bowling. Two games have been played this week in connection with the Greytown Bowling Club’s singles competition. P. Kenning beat E. Skeet and F. Dennes beat P. Kenning. During the weekend it is expected that the semi-finals in most of the club's competitions will be reached. ' Personal. Mr J. Robb, of the post office staff, is at present on leave, and Mr C. Smith, of Eketahuna, is relieving him. Euchre Party and Dance. The Greytown Citizens’ Patriotic Committee will hold a dance and euchre party in the Town Hall this evening. The addition of dancing will, it is expected, prove popular. TOWN HALL “TO BE OR NOT TO BE.” A romantic comedy, “To Be or Not to Be,” will head the programme at the Town Hall tomorrow afternoon and evening. Carole Lombard and Jack Benny head the cast. It is a brilliant drama which picture-lovers should not fail to see.
