One of the points made in a survey of the recent operations of the R.A.F. Bomber Command (transmitted in a British Official Wireless message) is that the Germans have provided far more men to man defensive guns in the Ruhr than all the Germans in Tunisia, and that: “It is therefore no easy passage for the attacking force to storm one of the most heavily defended fortresses in Europe.”
