WEDDING

JONES—CARSWELL. St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Tauranga, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on February 6, when Valerie Emily, second daughter of Staff-Sergeant and Mrs W. A. Carswell, formerly of Masterton, was married to Flight Sergeant Winston Innes Jones, R.N.Z.A.F., youngest son of Mr and Mrs H. J. Jones, of Masterton. The Rev. P. J. Wainwright officiated. The wedding music was played by Mrs W. Ferguson. The bride, who w r as escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of pearl satin cut on slim-fitting lines lace yoke and long sleeves. The skirt was formed into a graceful train embossed with true lover’s knots. Her tulle veil was held in place with a pleated halo of tulle and a top knot of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies. In attendance as matron of honour was the bride’s sister-in-law, Mrs Dorothy Carswell. The duties of best man were carried out by Sergeant H. H. Doherty, R.N.Z.A.F., Hamilton. At the reception, which was held in St. Peter's Church hall, the guests were received by Mrs Carswell, the bride’s mother, who was wearing a frock of navy and white crepe, navy hat and accessories. She carried a posy of blue flowers. Mrs Carswell was assisted by the bridegroom’s mother, who wore a frock of claret patterned sheer velvet, claret hat and accessories and a fur cape. She carried a posy of flowers to tone. z
