STATE THEATRE

“THAT NIGHT IN RIO” A gay and enchanting film, “That Night in Rio,” will be shown tonight at the State Theatre. This technicolour film stars Alice Faye, Don Ameche, and Carmen Miranda. It has an entertaining story set to catchy tunes. Featuring the singing of all three stars,' the music is South American in tempo, but universal in appeal. Interspersed with the engaging dance sequences is the story of an American night club entertainer who closely resembles a Brazilian baron, and his attempts to deceive Alice Faye (the baron’s wife), and Carmen Miranda (the entertainer’s girl friend) prove hilarious. It is one of the most spectacular pictures ever brought to the screen, beautifully coloured with entrancing musical items.
