WEST SCHOOL

SWIMMING SPORTS - HELD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. IDEAL WEATHER CONDITIONS. The annual swimming sports of the Master ton West School were held in the school baths yesterday afternoon under ideal weather conditions'. There was a fair attendance of parents to witness the many interesting and closely contested events. Mr Farrell and his staff had everything well organised, and Mr R. S. Graham, chairman of the school committee, who acted as official starter and judge of the diving, was kept busy with the forty odd events, which proceeded without a' hitch. Great interest was contred in the learners’ races, for which there were record entries. At the conclusion of the sports, Mr Graham presented the championship cups to the following:—Junior boys: John Renner; girls, Nancy Day. Senior boys: lan Reynolds; girls, Myrna Finn.
