AIR FORCE MATCH. WIN FOR NORTH ISLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. After having been 51 runs behind on the first innings, North Island beat South Island by 45 runs in the Royal New Zealand Air Force two days’ cricket match on the Basin Reserve, Wellington, yesterday. On Saturday, North Island was dismissed for 170. and when stumps were drawn South Island had 221 on for the loss of seven wickets. Resuming at 10 a.m. yesterday in fine weather, C. J. Oliver, captain of the South Island team, declared his first innings closed at the overnight score. In the second innings North Island compiled 221 (Parkin, not out, 63; N. Hoar 2 for 57, Mackay 3 for 39, Bird 3 for 37 ,Rabone 1 for 11). South Island were all out for 125 in the second innings (C. Kerr 39, F. Kgrr 26, Hoar 16; Metcalf 5 for 42, Lemon 5 for 31).
