FIRES IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA
GERMAN SUPPLIES DAMAGED. Reports reaching Czechoslovak circles in London from Prague reveal the fact that, in spite of intensified fire protection, the number of fires of mysterious origin increased alarmingly in Bohemia and Moravia during July and August. Some of these fires damaged important depots of supplies and ammunition dumps. In Hradec Kralove a huge fire destroyed the German airdrome. The guardsmen were arrested, but the origin of the fire was not ascertained. In Benesov, near Prague, the Germans gathered thirty carloads of wheat ready for transportation to Germany. On July 25, the grain ■ elevators caught fire and all the supplies were destroyed. These supplies were guarded by three Czech youths armed with revolvers. After the fire the guardsmen disappeared. The Gestapo arrested the members of their families.
