Miss Prentice, Lansdowne, is visiting Dunedin. Mrs T. Brodke, of Pahiatua, has been on a visit to Carterton. Miss I. Vincent, of Masterton, is on a visit to Napier. Mr J. Arthurs has been re-elected president of the Wellington Builders and General Labourers’ Union and Mr P. M. Butler secretary. The death occurred in Wellington on Saturday of Mrs Frances Mary Seaton, widow of Mi’ E. W. Seaton, who was well known in Masterton, at the age of 88 years. At a gathering at Pongaroa, Lance Bombadier Clark and Private Ritchie were guests of honour and were presented with a well filled money belt, writing pad and parcel of cigarettes from the residents of the district. Mr W. T. Ikin, general manager for New Zealand for the A.M.P. Society, accompanied by Mr H. L. Cranswick, general superintendent of agencies, of Sydney, and Mr F. Chapman, of Wellington, paid an official visit to Masterton yesterday.
