BOOKS & AMENITIES
SUPPLY BY PATRIOTIC BOARD. TO MEMBERS OF ARMED FORCES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Books to the value of £l,OOO are to be purchased from America out of the National Patriotic Fund and made available to all branches of the armed forces through the library service of the Army Education and Welfare Service. A list of amenities approved of at a meeting of the National Patriotic Fund Board included a sewing machine for each of the two W.A.A.C. camps. Other items included radio sets * writing benches and table tennis tables. Grants of £lO each were made for officers and sergeants mess es at those camps. A grant of £5O was approved for the purchase of extra amenities for W.R.N.S. hostels at Wellington, also for a radio set, two electric jugs and indoor games to W.R.N.S. at Auckland. Commander C. H. T. Palmer was appointed agent for the board in Auckland, for the supply of consumable goods for the naval personnel. ____
