Rumours persist concerning Hitler, the latest of which is that he is suffering from a complete nervous bieakdown, inflammation of the eyes, and exhaustion. The British United Press correspondent on the German frontier, quotes an informant recently in Munich, who mentioned the rumours that Hitler, after the Stalingrad disaster, retired to Berchtesgarden and refused to see anyone except servvants. He spends his time brooding on military plans to avert further disaster. The same informant states that slogans, Down with Hitler,” were scrawled on the walls of Munich after the latest R.A.F. raid.
