STRUCK BY AMERICANS IN BURMA AIR ATTACK ON RANGOON. ENEMY FIGHTER SHOT DOWN. LONDON, March 14. In Burma American heavy bombers in their latest instalment of the AngloAmerican air offensive, attacked a vital bridge as well as railway yards at Rangoon. Three Japanese fighters tried to intercept the bombers. One was shot down and the other two were damaged. The American losses were nil. INDIAN TROOPS CUT OFF IN RATHEDAUNG AREA. The “Daily Mail’s” correspondent at Eastern Army Headquarters in India reports that the Japanese infiltration of the Rathedaung area has cut off Indian troops, who are being supplied by air. Considerable damage was caused in an attack by escorted Blenheims on a" concentration of at least 50 railway wagons at Wuntho station, in Burma, yesterday, says an India communique. Most of the bombs burst on the target. Some wagons were blown into the air, and fires were left burning. Successful machine-gun attacks were made by fighters on troop-carrying launches and other river targets. All our aircraft returned.
