GREYTOWN
RED CROSS SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Red Cross Society, Mr A. W. Horton presided. It was decided that Miss E. Gregor be the Greytown sub-ceptre nominee for the detachment to be sent to Government House from the Wairarapa centre on April 4, when the members will be inspected by Lady Newall. Mrs G. R. Jury (secretary) read her annual report and balance sheet. Mr Horton thanked Mrs Jury for her untiring work, and Mi’ Kiernan for auditing the books. The* election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr A. W. Horton; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames F. C. Bunny, W. Ji Knell, Messrs J. F. Thompson and A. Nisbet; secretary,- Mrs G. R. Jury; assistant secretary, Miss M. Wood; executive committee, Mesdames J. F. Thompson, H. G. Carter, A. Gregor, C. Brown and Misses M. Wood and Oxford; auditor, Mr J. Kiernan. The secretary’s honorarium was fixed at £3. After the meeting the members who had been successful in their recent examinations were presented with certificates by Mrs F. C. Bunny, assistant Wairarapa Commandant. Mrs Bunny said she felt honoured at being asked to present the certificates, and hoped that all the candidates would continue their good work. The following received certificates, etc.: Bar to medallion for first aid, Miss E. Gregor; medallion to first aid, Mrs W. Everett; certificates, Mesdames W. Brown and Drysdale, and Misses G. Dickens, Oxford, Harding, M. Keltie, D. Bouzaid and C. Farrell. Mr Horton congratulated those who had been successful at the examinations. Personal. Mr and Mrs Jas. F. Wallis, of Greytown, have returned home after a holiday spent in Napier and Hastings. TOWN HALL “THE CORSICAN BROTHERS.” Douglas Fairbanks, Junr., plays a dual part in the brilliant drama, “The Corsican Brothers,” which will be shown tomorrow at the matinee and again in the evening. “The Corsican Brothers” is outstanding entertainment through fine production, brilliant acting and Alexander Dumas’s amazing romance. It should be well liked by Town Hall movie patrons.
