LATE CRICKET
SECONDARY SCHOOLS MATCH AT MASTERTON. A DRAWN GAME. Play in the inter-collegiate cricket match at the Wairarapa College grounds between teams repreesnting the College and Hutt Valley High School was continued yesterday afternoon and concluded this morning, resulting in a draw. Hutt Valley were dismissed for 157 runs in the first innings. Reid scored 78 runs. Bowling for Wairarapa College, O’Brien took four wickets, Hayes three, and Hemi two. Wairarapa made 206 in the first innings (Lyver 79, G. Masters 29, K. Masters 23, McPherson 24 not out, O’Brien 13). Bowling: Cameron 4 for 20, Du Four 4 for 28. In the second innings Hutt Valley declared with 3 wickets down for 167 (Cameron 67, Reid, not out, 80. Bowling? O’Brien 3 for 40, K. Masters 1 for 29). Wairarapa College in the second innings lost 6 wickets for 49 when time was called (Hayes 19, Lyver 10, McPherson, not out, 10. Bowling: White,, 3 for 15, DuFour 2 for 15). UMPIRES FOR SATURDAY. The following are the umpires for the Wairarapa Cricket Association’s matches to be played tomorrow: — At the Park, Messrs Williams and McAliece. At the College ground, Messrs Dohnt and Berney.
