BOMBING IN BURMA
GOOD RESULTS IN ATTACK ON PROME. FIGHTER PATROLS IN BATTLE AREA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) RUGBY, March 10. An India joint communique states: “Last night R.A.F. Liberators attacked Prome with good results. Bombs were dropped from a medium height and in the course of the attack, which lasted for about half an hour, bursts were seen on marshalling yards and other objectives. Large fires were burning as the aircraft left the target. “Yesterday Blenheims continued to bomb Japanese positions in the Kanzauk area, north-east of Rathedaung. Fighters made offensive patrols in the battle area and attacked various targets, including Japanese troops, gun positions and a factory near Akyab. All our aircraft are safe.”
