HASTWELLS
SCHOOL PICNIC ORGANISED BY WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A most enjoyable outing in the form of a school picnic was provided for the children attending the Hastwells School. The picnic was organised by the members of the Women’s Institute, and was much appreciated by the children. Morning and afternoon tea was provided, and the children were treated to soft drinks. Various games and races were provided for children, and several adult competitions were held. . The following are the results of some of the events: —Married ladies’ race, Mrs C. Seymour 1; married men’s race, Mr Dick 1; single ladies’ race, Miss Gain 1; single, men’s race, R. Dick 1; three-legged race, Miss O. Gain and R. Dick 1; catch-the-train race, E. Sigvertsen 1; cup race, E. Dick and I. Larsen 1; nail-driving, Mrs J. Dick 1; ladies’ stepping the chain, Miss I. Madsen 1; men, Mr C. Seymour 1.
