RUSSIANS IN CENTRAL FRONT ELEVEN PLACES CAPTURED BEYOND RZHEV. FIERCE COUNTER-ATTACKS REPULSED. LONDON, March 4. The new Russian drive on the central front lias already swept past Rzhev and the Russians have captured 11 more places. The Germans are counter-attacking fiercely in an attempt to hold the Russians and. to give themselves time to consolidate new positions. Yesterday all enemy attacks were repulsed. The latest Russian advance threatens the German positions on the approaches to Smolensk.
