SPLENDID WHEAT CROP

62 BUSHELS TO THE ACRE. LOCAL FARMER’S SUCCESS. A crop comprising 18 of Cross 7 wheat, grown by Mr L. T. Daniell, of Akura, has threshed out at the rate of 62 bushels to the acre, which is stated to be the highest yield in the Wairarapa this season. The wheat was threshed by a tin mill and was grown on land which raised peas last year. It is the first ■time for many years that Mr Daniell has grown wheat ahd his return to, wheat cropping has thus been marked! by signal success.
