WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION SATURDAY’S MATCHES. WIN FOR RED STAR. The Wairarapa Cricket Association’s senior championship was continued on Saturday in fine weather. Red Star scored an 8 point win over Air Force, while Wairarapa College and Old Boys played a drawn game. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR v AIR FORCE. The Red Star and Air Force teams met on the Park Oval, Masterton, on Saturday. For Red Star good batting displays were given by F. Williams (who hit a 6 and eight 4’s), F. Hoar (a 6 and five 4’s) and Bell (six 4’s) and for Air Force by Slight (five 4’s), Spain (two 6’s and three 4’s), Milne (two 6’s and two 4’s) and Patterson (a 6 and four 4’s). Scores: Red Star: First innings, 6 wickets for 177 dec (F. Williams 55, F. Hoar 40, Bell 29, Colban not out 16, Roys 11; Harding 3 for 65, McPherson 2 for 26, Slight 1 for 25). Second innings 3 for 36 (Bellworthy 16; Slight 2 for 15, Milne 1 for 12. Air Force: First innings 99 (Milne 26, Slight 13, Carswell 12, Neill 12); Mahoney 5 for 26, F. Hoar 3 for 36, Bell 2 for 18. The Wairarapa College-Old Boys match on the College grounds on Saturday provided some good batting displays. The game ended in a draw. For Old Boys, Fitzpatrick hit vigorously for 67, his score including nine 4’s. McMichael gave a most attractive display for 42 not out, his score including four 4’s. Stevens (24) also batted well.
