HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB. RACE FROM DANNEVIRKE. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a successful race from Dannevirke, an airline distance of 55 miles, over the week-end. The weather conditions were perfect, and as a result the times for the race were good. The following were the results: —Grant and Forrester’S “Black Son’’ (time, 1 hr. 16 min. 42 sec.), 1; Grant and Forrester’s “Pilot King” (1 hr. 16imin. 56 sec.) ,2; Stewart and Son’s “Petone Pride” (1 hr. 19 min. 6 sec.), 3; N. Gardner’s “Nightly” (1 hr. 19 min. 17 sec.), 4; A. Pinkney’s “Rookie” (1 hr. 19 riin. 36 sec.), 5; N. Gardner’s “Hot Spot” (1 hr. 19 min. 361 sec.), 6.
