SWIMMING SPORTS HELD YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. KEEN & EXCITING FINISHES. There was a large attendance of parents and friends at the St. Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girls, Masterton, yesterday afternoon whbn the annual swimming sports took place. A high standard was set in all events and there were many keen and exciting, finishes. The sports were under the control of Miss Lloyd, and the judges were Messrs H. P. Hugo, E. W. Payton, H. M. Boddington, C. J. Bennett and S. W. Smith. The senior championship was won by June Smith with 13 points, and Elizabeth Daniell with 11 points, was runner-up. The junior championship was won by Adrienne Irwin with 10 points. Jean Raleigh and Sheila Norman with 4 points each, tied for the position of runner-up. The senior championship dive was won by April Thompson. B. Hugo and M. Hugo tied for the position of runner-up. The junior championship dive was won by Anne Booth. Sheila Norman was run-ner-up. , „ _ The beginners’ dive was won by E. Parr with 3 points, and N. Pearce and S. Barnett tied for the position of runner-up. The senior non-championship was won by J. Mitchell with 3 points, and the run-ner-up was Jill Macßae with 2 points. The junior non-championship was won by M. Love with 3 points. The runner-up was B. Smith with 2 points.
