SWIMMING
INTERHOUSE CARNIVAL EVENTS AT BATHS LAST NIGHT. KEENLY CONTESTED RACES. A swimming carnival held in the Dixon Street baths, Masterton, last night by the Wairarapa Interhouse As sociation in conjunction with the Masterton Swimming' Club, proved most successful. There was a large crowd to witness an interesting programme. There were several keen finishes and the diving events were of a high standard. A competent band of officials controlled the carnival, the events being run off smoothly and to time. Results: — 25 yards handicap, ladies: Mrs D. Nicol 1, Miss J. Morris 2, Miss M. Pauling 3. Men: J. Barnes 1, L. Wickens 2, F. Sexton 3. 50 yards Service championship: M. Clay 1, Gilkey 2, Kelly 3. 50 yards handicap: Ladies, Mrs Nicol 1, Miss Pauling 2, Miss Morris 3. Men: L. Wickens 1, J. Barnes 2, F. Sexton 3. Ladies’, neatest dive: Miss N. Stains I, Miss L. Hopkins and Miss M. Pauling, equal, 2. Comic dive: Miss M. Pauling. Men’s dive, C. Thorne 1, —. Franklin 2, F. Sexton 3. 25 yards ladies’ breaststroke: Miss N. Stains 1, Miss J.. Morris 2, Miss M. Pauling 3. Life saving race: Misses J. Gray and J. Thorne 1, Misses N. Stains and M.
