GREYTOWN
WOMEN’S DIVISION FIRST MEETING OF YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) The members of the Greytown Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held their first meeting for the year in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, when Mrs R. Beu presided over a good attendance of members. Mrs Beu welcomed several visitors, including Mesdames K. Groves (Masterton, Wairarapa Provincial President), Maitland (Carterton, Wairarapa Provincial Secretary), J. Standen (Carterton president), and W. A. Ross (Pihatea president). Mrs Beu presented Mrs Groves with a shoulder spray of cream roses. Mrs Wiggins then presented Mrs' Beu with a shoulder spray of red roses, the work of Miss Oates. Members stood for a few minutes in silence as a mark of sympathy with Mrs A. Johnson, who had recently suffered a bereavement. A letter from Trooper G. Humphrey was read, thanking the Division for a parcel. A competition for the best dahlia was won by Mrs C. Maxton. The next competition will be for plain scones and pikelets. Mrs Groves addressed the meeting on Division matters. She gave som° details of the Rest Home at Awapuni. Mrs Beu thanked Mrs Groves for her address. • The hostesses were Mesdames W. Wiggins, R. Beu, F. C. Bunny and C. Maxton. Personal. Mr and Mrs F. Best, Main Street, have returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. TOWN HALL DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME. There will be two big attractions at the Town Hall tonight—“ Adventures of Martin Eden” (a picture full of excitement) and “The Royql Mounted Patrol” (telling the story of a famous organisation).
