CLIPPER CRASHES
WHILE LANDING IN PORTUGAL 23 PERSONS KILLED. TEN OTHERS SUFFER INJURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, February 23. A Clipper flying-boat from the United States with 40 persons aboard, of Whom 27 were passengers, crashed while landing on the River Tagus, in Portugal. At least 23 persons were killed and 10 injured. The British United Press correspondent at Lisbon says the Clipper exploded the moment it touched the water and sank imniediately.
