IDAHO NOW IN COMMISSION. WORLD’S LARGEST WARSHIP. LONDON, February 23. The United States Navy Secretary, Colonel Knox, said the new battleship Idaho, was now in commission, seven months ahead of schedule. She is a 45,000 tonner and is the biggest warship in the Allied navies. She mounts nine 16-inch guns and has a speed of 30 knots. A sister ship, the New Jersey, was launched from an American yard in December.
