The United States Sixth Army, to the command of which Lieutenant-General Walter Kreuger has been appointed, embraces only American troops in the South-west Pacific Command area, and not those in the South Pacific area. This clarification of the scope of the new Sixth Army has been made by official sources here. (The cabled report last week of the announcement by the United States Secretary of War stated that the newlyconstituted Sixth Army administration covered the American troops in New Zealand as well as Australia and other areas.)
