MAORI GIRLS’ COLLEGE
TO BE ESTABLISHED IN TARANAKI. METHODIST CHURCH PROPOSAL. (By Telecranh —Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. In 1940 the Methodist Church set out to establish a special centenary fund of £lOO,OOO, and it was announced at the Methodist conference in Christchurch that all but £135 had been raised. The church intends to establish a Maori girls’ college in Taranaki with this money, in redemption of a promise by the first Wesleyan missionaries more than a century ago.
