PARTY FOR MARINES
TENDERED BY WAIRARAPA STEAM LAUNDRY. ENJOYABLE GATHERING. The Y.M.C.A. rooms, Masterton, were gaily decorated with the flags of the Allied Nations on Saturday afternoon, when the proprietors and staff of the Wairarapa Steam Laundry entertained a party of the United States Marine Corps. Those present thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and the sponsors of the party worked tirelessly. A large number of men sat down to a bountiful spread, and after tea an adjournment was made to the games hall; where dancing was enjoyed. Splendid music was provided by nine members of the Marine Corps, and brought forth much favourable comment. Mr J. W. Henderson was M.C. Contributions to a musical programme were given by Miss D. Jamieson, Mrs Moss, Mr and Mrs Miller Hope, and Mr Harry Hall. A member of the Marine Corps, in thanking the sponsors of the party, said that all present had thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
