WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION SATURDAY’S GAMES. RED STAR AND COLLEGE WIN. The Wairarapa Cricket Association’s senior championship was continued on Saturday when wins were secured by Red Star and Wairarapa College. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR v OLD BOYS. Red Star beat Old Boys on the Park Oval by 73 runs on the first innings. Williams (40, including seven 4’s) and Wysocki. (52 including eight 4’s and a 6) put on 97 runs for the first wicket for Red Star. Scores: — Red Star: 8 wickets or 201 declared (Wysocki 52, F. Williams 40, Rew 31, F. Hoar not out 11, Mahoney 11, G. Peterson 11; Trapp 4 wickets for 40, McMichael 3 for 58, A. Whiteman 1 for 33). Old Boys 128 (Jones 47, O’Reilly 19, McMichael 15; Bell 5 wickets for 26, F. Hoar 2 for 51, Davis 1 for 13, Mahoney 1 for 15). COLLEGE v AIR FORCE. Wairarapa College scored an 8-point win over the Air Force team (which batted two men short) on the College ground. Scores:— Wairarapa College: 8 wickets for 103 declared (Sweeney 37, Liver 27, Holt 2 wickets for 16, Peake 2 for 30, Slight 2 for 38, Milne 1 for 10). Air Force: First innings, 52 (Peake 19, Slight 13; Sweeney 6 wickets for 23, Hemi 2 for 3). Second innings 76 (Peake not out 24, Holt 11; Hemi 3 wickets for 19, Sweeney 3 for 27, O’Brien 1 or 8). The North v South Army match was continued in Wellington on Saturday. The South Island scored 130 and 191 (Page 70, Anderson 57) and the North Island 100 and 2 for 30.
