NEW TORPEDO BOATS

DESIGNED BY UNITED STATES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, February 20 The Navy Department disclosed that a new model motor torpedo-boat is being built in large numbers. It is more powerfully armed and more seaworthy than its predecessors, which raised havoc among the Japanese in the Philippines. The new boats carry more offensive weapons and have a considerably longer cruising range than their forerunners, which are unofficially reported as capable of 70 knots.
