Body Found in Harbour. A body found floating in the Auckland harbour on Saturday morning near Parnell was identified as that of Mr Edward Saies, aged 55, single, a pensioner of the last war. Ewe Schedule Price. The New* Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the ewe schedule in the North Island will be increased by one-eighth of a penny per pound, commencing today. Plastic Surgery. Soldiers returning to New Zealand from overseas will be assured of the most modern methods of treatment when the Dominion’s first plastic surgery clinic is opened in Christchurch next month. It will be run as a military hospital by a staff of specialists under Lieut.-Colonel J. J. Brownlee, who has been studying in England with Sir Harold Gillies, one of the world’s foremost plastic surgeons. Alleged Deserter Found. Found living in a cave on the coast, a young man, allegedly an Army deserter, was brought to Whangarei and handed over to the military authorities. Acting on information, a constable, after tramping the hills, picked up tracks which led to the man, who had a good camp and plenty of food and covering. He had been there for a long period, and when arrested was fashioning a spear for flounder fishing. Servicemen Entertained. American Servicemen appreciated in no uncertain manner the entertainment provided last night at St Patrick’s Hall, Masterton, by a Maori concert party from Te Ore Ore. The group, under the . direction of Miss Mary Greenlees, produced an hour of bright entertainment. Maori" action songs, poi dances, hakas, tap numbers and several popular choruses comprised the programme. The group responded well to the enthusiasm of a bumper attendance. ' Nazi Atrocities. Condemnation of Nazi atrocities in Europe and determination to see the perpetrators brought to justice and freedom restored to humanity, were expressed at a meeting of Wellington citizens, arranged by the city council and held in the Opera House yesterday afternoon. The Mayor, Mr Hislop," presided, and the other speakers were: The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser; the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Holland; the Bishop of Wellington, the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland; Monsignor T. F. Connolly, on behalf of Archbishop O’Shea; the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes; Rabbi Katz, and the Consul-General of Belgium, M. A. Nihotte, on behalf of the Allied nations.
