FATAL INJURIES
SUFFERED BY MASTERTON " LAD CONTACT WITH CIRCULAR SAW. ACCIDENT AT RANGITUMAU FARM. Donald French, aged 14 years, son of Mr and Mrs W. H. French, of “Beauley,” Masterton, died in the Masterton Hospital at one o’clock this morning following serious abdominal wounds received through contact with a circular saw on Mr Colin McDonald’s property at Rangitumau on Saturday afternoon. ■The lad was admitted to hospital at 2.43 o’clock on Saturday afternoon. It is understood that the injuries were received while French, with' a companion, was engaged in cutting wood with a circular saw. Donald French was a popular pupil at the Wairarapa College. He took a full part in all college activities. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to the parents and family in their sad bereavement. An inquest was opened before the District Coroner, Mr L. J. Taylor, this afternoon, and after formal evidence of identification had been taken, was adjourned sine die.
